I am going to show you one of the best ways to use hot water, minerals and liquid oxygen as an excellent therapy to relax, detox the skin and pores of the entire body as well as feed the body minerals transdermally through the skin. I will be using several all natural, common mineral compounds and H202 available at most grocery stores or online.

Stress is one of the silent killers of our current age. Stress accumulates on a daily basis, but can be released on a daily basis as well. There are many ways to relieve toxic stress like intense exercise, deep meditation, prolonged fasting, deep massage, nutritious food and using a hot water mineral bath like we used to use just 100 years ago for many colds, flu, stress, sore muscles and many other ailments and sickness.

The mineralized hot bath therapy is a stress killer. It is one of my favorite daily therapies I do most evenings before dinner. Deep sleep is very important for regeneration, and if we want to have a strong immune system to fight off invaders for the next day of constant biological assaults.

The natural mineral compounds added in combination to the hot water have multiple positive effects such as relaxation, sanitizing the skin/pores and absorbing the minerals through the skin to aid the body in many ways such as alkalizing the tissues and feeding the muscles magnesium sulphate, boron from the borax and trace minerals from the salt.

This therapy really makes me sleep well, and also helps me with my back and neck stiffness. I suffered many low back and neck injuries over the years and soaking definitely helps keep my injured parts from being in spasm. Many middle aged people have constant stiffness, ache or pain in some part of their body.

Folklore, and in past medical history, shows us hot mineralized hot springs were used for a variety of ailments from sickness from colds, circulation, eczema, skin fungus, ultimate relaxation, stress reduction, muscle therapy, old wrinkled skin, depression, insomnia, respiratory issues, headaches, stiff joints and many more simple complaints relieved.

The amazing part of a hot mineral bath or spa is that your body starts to absorb the minerals that are in the water through the skin, almost immediately. This has a dramatic effect on rehydrating the cells of the body thus substantial cellular detoxification effects are experienced.

I am going to recreate a super mineralized hot bath and spa using a variety of common natural mineral compounds that are very beneficial to the human body, in the bathtub and in my spa. I am going to use a lot of sulfur, magnesium, boron, sodium, H202 (oxygen) and over 80 trace minerals to match the best healing hot water therapeutic springs in the world.

It has been known for many years that the best hot springs are ones that have a lot of sulfur and concentrated amounts of other alkalizing minerals.

Are you ready to make your own therapeutic mineral bath? 🙂

Are Mineral Springs Good for You?

“The heat in hot springs envelopes and helps soothe aching muscles, and the minerals present in the water get soaked up by the skin, and stimulate certain bodily processes. … Circulation: Specifically, sodium bicarbonate and calcium found in mineral hot springs help with good circulation in the body.” – src: What’s so hot about Hot Springs? Top reasons to go for a soak

Magnesium Sulphate, Sodium Bicarbonate and Borax Powder Hot Bath Soak

This therapy and the protocols are excellent for people who have the beginning and intermediate stages of the flu or cold, when the joints and muscles become stiff, sore and ache.

If you are stuffy with a head cold or congestion, this hot water therapy with all of the minerals added to the water is an easy way to reduce the mucus, drainage and tightness of breath.

Soaking in the bathtub or hot tub with just these 3 compounds, is also an excellent way to support the entire body to start the detoxification process, delousing the skin and pores from parasites, fungus, mold and mites.

As you soak in the hot water, your body starts to absorb some of the mineral compounds via the skin and pores, thus will have a profound effect on relaxing the muscles, ligaments and tendons from the Epson Salts (aka Magnesium Sulphate), Borax and the Sodium Bicarbonate minerals.

Bathtub soaked with massaging equipments

The hot water lets the body absorb the minerals much easier since the cells of the skin and pores are expanded and opened from the heat and minerals in the water. I have found the perfect temperature for me to soak in my spa is about 104 -105 degrees.

This temperature range allows me to stay in water for 30-60 minutes , so my body can stay in the water longer to absorb the minerals better for detoxification and relaxation purposes. This therapy can be used in a variety of ways, and I will give you some pointers that I have learned over the years.

Many people are stressed all day with their lifestyle and this is one of the best ways to unwind yourself anytime.

As some of us have learned; stress is killing us very slowly – minute by minute – day by day. It’s a good idea not to heave stress accumulate in your body and mind, so be conscious of this truth and make sure you release the stress as you receive it.

Relax and Unwind The Body and Mind

For the next 5-10 minutes, when I first get into the tub or spa, I submerse myself all the way up to the neck with the hot mineralized water. I try to lay in the hot water as relaxed as I can, and I use this time as a meditation to slow my mind and body’s tension down. In a few minutes the hot water and the minerals are going to start relaxing me mentally, physically and emotionally.

So, this is a good time to unwind your mind down, relax with your eyes completely closed or covered with a blindfold. Darkness, or no light shining into the eyes is your best friend when you are wanting to slow down the mind for the day. I like using a blindfold over my eyes and watch the mind’s eyes, pictures, colors and thoughts will sometimes appear. Let your mind wander and not get stuck on anyone point of thought.

I try to slow my breathing down to the bare minimum and watch my breath – slowing my breath as much as possible. Each breath I take is a little slower and shallower than the last.

The body thrives on intense intermittent exercise and absolute rest. Relaxing is one of the ways to feel better, and if you feel more relaxed at night you will sleep much deeper and sound.

After 5-10 minutes of real relaxing I start to stretch in any direction or way I feel stiff or tight. This is the perfect time to take advantage of the supple and relaxed state of the muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints that are ready to unwind and stretch while I am in the tub or spa. I will stretch for the next 30-45 minutes staying submerged in the hot water as much as I can.

This will help unwind the tension in my muscles and spine.

Bath Tub or Hot Tub?

For this therapy, I like to use a hot tub instead of a bathtub for many reasons. If you are using a bath tub or spa, for this therapy to be beneficial and not harmful, you need to have clean water without fluoride, chlorine or chloramines.

This is why I suggest if you are serious about detoxification and/or regeneration, invest in a Whole House Water Filtration System to reduce many poisons and toxins found in most city waters in the US, and all other countries.

Another reason I like to use a hot tub is because I can use the same water for at least 6 months to a 1 year without changing it. To keep the water clean and not contaminated I just add 1/2-1 cup of each, more of the powdered mineral compounds every week for the next 30 days. After 30 days I only add minerals 2 times a month.

I also use about 4-6 oz of food grade 6% H202 to disinfect the water every week to keep any bacteria levels down, and enjoy clear and smelling fresh water in the spa.

My hot tub is hot all of the time, so it’s very easy and economical to use everyday.

I got my hot tub from Costco on a Black Friday sale. It was about $2k delivered to my house in Hawaii. I am sure you can buy a second hand one on Craigs List for a few hundred dollars, as well as a FIR sauna. If you do not have a hot tub you can also use your bathtub effectively.

Chlorine Widely Used Pesticide In Municipal Water

It’s best to side step as much chlorine as we can in our lives. The warmer the water is, the more we absorb this poisonous substance. Chlorine and chloramine’s are toxic to the body and they are classified as pesticides. Use of these chemicals in water cause the skin to be pre-aged, weathered and dry.

“Gaseous chlorine is poisonous and classified as a pulmonary irritant. It has intermediate water solubility with the capability of causing acute damage to the upper and lower respiratory tract. Chlorine gas has many industrial uses, but it was also once used as a chemical weapon in World War I.” – src: Chlorine Gas Toxicity – StatPearls – NCBI Bookshelf

“First registered in the United States in 1948 as a disinfectant for use in swimming pools, drinking water, cooling towers, and sewage systems, chlorine gas is a very widely used pesticide. … Chlorine gas is used in washing meat, fresh produce, and seeds to control decay-causing microorganisms.” – src: Questions & Answers on the Chlorine Gas Reregistration Eligibility Decision (RED)

“Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia. … Chloramines are all respiratory irritants with trichloramine being the most toxic (order of toxicity: monochloramine < dichloramine < trichloramine-most severe.) In contrast to what water utilities claim, it is impossible to have only monochloramine.” – src: Chloramine Facts – Citizens Concerned About Chloramine

What City has the Dirtiest Water?

Most of our city water or municipal public water is tainted with many chemicals, toxins, heavy metals, aluminum, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, glyphosate, pollution, chemtrails, etc.

Creating Clean Water

If you do not have clean water you may want to skip soaking in a bathtub or a hot tub, or correctly filter the water before using.

To use this water therapy and protocols correctly, try to only use clean water that is not full of fluoride, chlorine or chloramines and other contaminants found in most city or municipal water.

There are many ways to clean up your house water supply as I will share with you in the section.

3 Stage Whole House Water Filtration System

One of the easiest ways to reduce the toxicity from your city water is invest in a good 3 Stage Filtration System. This system cleans the water by filtration through several filters that are specifically designed to remove contaminants such as rust, pesticides, heavy metals, chlorine, fluoride, chloramines and other pollutants.

You may want to get a 3 Stage Whole House Water Filtration System that will remove most all of the toxic chemicals found in city managed water supplies.

Below is the link to the 3 stage whole house water system I designed to reduce the toxic load of chemicals we bathe in, use in laundry, cook with and use in our garden, usually on a daily basis. The 4×10 inch filter system is for a smaller house and the 4×20 inch filter system is for 4-5 bedrooms.

I have the 20 inch filter system in my houses in Hawaii. I change the filters every 4-6 months depending on how much water I use. I just changed my house filters this morning, and they were filthy and plugged with all of the contaminants from the catchment rain system we have.

These are the 3 different filters used in the system.

  • 1st Stage: Sediment Filter.5 Micron, Multi-Layer, Removes Rust, Sediment and Dirt
  • 2nd Stage: Media Filter Removes Arsenic, Fluoride, Heavy Metals from Water
  • 3rd Stage: Specialty Premium High Activity Carbon filter for removing 100% of Chloramines, Chlorine, Bad Taste and Odor from Water; Change filters 1 x year
  • Dimensions: 4.5″ x 10” and 4.5” x 20” housings

Inline Garden Hose Water Filter For Your Spa

Here is a simple and economical way to reduce the toxicity found in city water. When I lived in California they had harsh chloramines, chlorine and fluoridated city water and the last thing I want to do is soak in that toxic treated water.

To help fix the toxic water problem, I would simply hook the garden hose to this ¾ inch inline compact water filter to fill up my hot tub or water my garden plants, to make sure I removed as much of the toxic fluoride, chlorine and chloramine contaminations. Most of these small filters will not remove all of the contaminants, but they will massively reduce the toxicity of the water.

On my garden hose (and in my RV), I use two units in tandem. Using 2 units together is to make sure the water went through double filtration for cleaner water.

AQUACREST Inline RV Water Filter
AQUACREST Inline RV Water Filter

AQUACREST inline RV water filter uses advanced GAC, KDF and fluoride remover. It can effectively remove chlorine, heavy metals, fluoride, sediments, rust and other contaminants, so that you can always enjoy refreshing and tasty filtered water. The micron rating is 20 microns.

Make sure your filter has a specific fluoride and chlorine removal filters. Most of the filters are effective for reducing substantial amounts of the chemicals in the city water supply.

Using clean water void of fluoride, chloramine, bromine and chlorine is necessary for this therapy to get all of the benefits in these protocols. As you enter the hot tub, or as you take a hot shower, you are absorbing large quantities of these toxic chemicals into your body via the skin and lungs if they are present in your water.

In part 2 and 3 I will show you the alkalizing, skin disinfecting, oxygenated recipes for both bath tubs and spas, and how I keep my water crystal clear and clean without using any toxic chemicals.

I will also go over some massage protocols, various meditation and stretching methods in my mineralized oxygenated super spa.

  1. G’day Dr Cassar,
Thank you for this detailed write up of your bath recipe.
I just had a question about including an extra couple of ingredients to the bath when I felt it needed at the time for detox purposes and whether they would be effective or not when mixed with the 3-4 ingredients you already suggest.
    The ingredients and reasons for doing so that I might like to add from time to time would be any or all of the following which I currently have in my possession;
1: Shilajit Powder – broad range minerals for skin asborbtion and high fulvic acid content to help disolve any biofilm/blocked pores/dead skin/oil-dirt-grime etc

2: lugols iodine – help sanitise and heal/detox any potentially injured or infected skin (cuts/sores/pimples etc)

3: EDTA powder – help break bonds of and detox stubbourn heavy metals and other pollutants from skin and hairs

4: Ascorbic Acid – chloramine reduction in from water / help skin with oxidative stress and detoxing

5: Organic Apple Cider Vinegar – mostly for the fulvic acid properties as I mentioned with shilajit above.

6: Food grade Diatomaceous Earth – aid skin / hair / nail health and potentially act as binder in the water to help remove stuff being detoxed by the other ingredients?

If you could please let me know how well or not these ingredients would mix with your bath recipe and what quantities of each you could recommend that would be much appreciated 🙂
    Kind regards

Aloha Carlo, As far as the ingredients you listed, you were asking questions about to add to the hot tub or a bath tub. The ingredients that I am using in the hot tub are primarily alkaloids not acids. The products that you listed are acidic: Shilajit Powder, lugol iodine, EDTA, ascorbic acid, apple cider vinegar etc. so they will interact with the alkaline borax – sod bicarbonate – mag. sulfate, salt etc. The acids in the ingredient you listed would react to the alkaloids in the tub, so that wouldn’t be good. EDTA will eat up the plastic in the hot tub and metals too in the pump etc. Food grade DE is good to use either on the skin and teeth for polishing or taken internally for parasites with distilled water. Better off using those ingredients – iodine – EDTA – shilajit etc. topically or for ingestion not in the tub.

To keep my tub clean from bacteria, I use 25 drops of CD twice a month to keep the water sanitized without the use of chlorine, bromide or toxic chemicals.

See the video course ” How I use CD for Various Therapies” – https://eartheracademy.com/course/how-i-use-cd-with-various-therapies/ and using EDTA topically – EDTA Skin Cream For Heavy Metal Detoxification – https://eartheracademy.com/course/edta-skin-cream-for-heavy-metal-detoxification/.

      Hope that helps,

      :)) Dr Robert

  2. Hi there Dr. Cassar,

I have been looking into investing in a similar hot tub solution. My question is whether an inflatable hot tub would work for this? My main concern is if the plastic material gets in the water and in my body.
Also, have you planned on doing any retreats in the future? I would definitely attend one.

    All the best,
    Benjamin

    1. I might also add that the material used in this inflatable hot tub which I have been thinking of buying is PVC-Polyester. I just don’t want to sit many hours a week in a soup of leached plastic toxins. Will these ingredients leach this kind of plastic into the water?

Thanks again Dr. Cassar and all the best to you.

        Aloha Benjamin,

I have a friend that has one of the Costco inflatable hot tubs… All of the tubs will stink like plastic – as a new car or any new product from a petroleum base will “off gas” for a while at first especially when the water gets hot.

I use CD to clean up the water – Watch the private video courses I did on CD. This product really helps sanitize many of the chemicals, parasites and pathogens that can form in the water.

You can also add a few cups of 12+% H202 food grade to the water several times over a period of several days. This will help oxidize the off gas and after a while you wont smell anything. Took me several weeks to completely rid the smell of the vinyl cover of the hot tub.

Here are a few private videos to watch and thoroughly read the descriptions to learn about CD and the many uses.

        Hope that helps.

      Aloha Benjamin,

See if you can research an inflatable hot tub with food grade plastic. I will research it also. I am not sure if they have them or not. The best of course is a non plastic hot tub but they are expensive to build one out of cement and gunite. I got a resin plastic hot tub from Costco, and it did smell for a while. You can also buy hot tubs with other types of non or less off gassing materials. Some of them become very costly though. Wooden hot tubs are very nice – but a little pricey for most.

Like I said in a previous email that I use CD to clean the water and that has worked excellently.

Watch the videos on CD to get an idea how I use it for various therapies including in my hot tub instead of chlorine or any other toxic chemicals to sanitize the water.

      Hope that helps,

      Dr. Robert

  3. Dr. Robert,

I am trying to convince my husband to switch to using the minerals and H2O2 in our hot tub but he is worried about others saying that it affects the plastics and seals in the tub. Do you have any insight into how the alkalinity will affect the life of the hot tub? Or would sanitizing with CD be better?

    Thank you for your time,
    Shannon

    1. Post
      Author

      Aloha Shannon,

I have been experimenting with the hot tub recipe for over 20 years. In that time I have never used chlorine, bromide or any other toxic sanitizers. I have not had any problems with the pumps, seals or leakage using the variety of minerals that I use. I have removed the filter from my hot tub so the filter doesn’t get clogged with some of the more coarse minerals such as sodium bicarbonate and the borax. I use a fine pool net instead of an inline filter to surface clean any bugs that may get into the water. If you do not remove the small filter that comes with the hot tub – (at least mine did – it just unscrews) the filter will have a tendency to clog if you use any type of powders in the water. A clogged filter will hamper the pump’s ability to flow water. I just removed it and it works fine without it – like I said, use a fine pool net if needed before using.

The CD and the H202 – food grade will remove some of the toxic chemicals that can leach from new plastic from the vinyl cover and the inner body of the hot tub. My hot tub I bought three years ago from Costco, For several months the hot tub smelled plasticy – the bi monthly use of CD and or H202 definitely removed the plastic smell through the process of oxidation – I have never had any damage to the plastic or seals using the mineral and sanitizing recipe. The alkalinity over 20 years of use has never been an issue.

Since H202 is very costly compared to using CD – I have been just using a 25-50 drop strength of CD solution every 2-3 weeks or if needed. The water is perfectly clean and smells excellent, after 3 years I have never had the need to change the water. So – I like to use the CD over the H202 – I feel it is more effective for a longer period of time and of course the cost is pennies a treatment.

      Hope that helps you decide,

      Dr. Robert
