Natural Mouthwash and Oral Disinfectant

I am going to show you 2 of my favorite homemade “ALL NATURAL” Mouthwash Solutions/Therapies I have used for many years, personally and with many patients and friends, with excellent results.

In Part 1 I share my “Basic Natural Mouthwash Formula” perfect for everyday use. I use this basic formula in my daily routine unless I need gum or tooth decay, support or repair.

In Part 2 I will show you a much stronger recipe called the “Therapeutic Formula Natural Mouthwash”, which is specifically designed for deeper cleansing, healing and preventive therapy, and is geared towards supporting tooth and gum regeneration.

I will be combining several “over the counter” non-toxic products to create an effective, easy and economical mouthwash that works really well on most people, for not only a clean, fresh breath, but to heal gum and tooth decay.

Poisoning Yourself With “Toxic Mouthwash”?

If you read the labels, most all of the “over the counter” mainstream mouthwash are loaded with a variety of many toxic ingredients including Pesticides, Triclosan, Saccharin, Chlorhexidine, Fluoride, Peroxides, Up to 54% Proof Alcohol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Benzydamine-HCL, Coloring Agents and Toxic Dyes made from Petrochemicals, Artificial Flavors, Sugar, Hexetidine, Benzalkonium Chloride and many other known toxic or chemical irritants – (see related articles and further research below).

These are some of the toxic, synthetic chemicals used in many of the popular mainstream mouthwashes.

“Daily use of mouthwash has been linked to increased incidence of oral cancer, erosion of tooth enamel, increased tooth sensitivity, and higher levels of bad breath. If that weren’t enough, research has just revealed that mouthwash is toxic to cells and damages DNA.” ~ (source: Mouthwash is Toxic to Cells and Damages DNA).

FD&C color pigments, Red No. 40, Green No.5, Blue No.1, Yellow No. 10, Red No. 30 lake, Yellow No.10 lake – These colors are all synthetic petrochemical colors made from coal tar. Animal studies have shown almost all of them to be carcinogenic.

Many of these coloring agents contain heavy metal salts, which can accumulate in the body and cause serious health problems.

Ethanol alcohol is the primary ingredient in the majority of mouthwashes. Ethanol has the extraordinary ability to dry the moisture out of living cells, which leads to compromised dehydrating buccal tissues.

Over the counter mouthwashes can contain up to nearly 27 percent pure alcohol/54 proof strength. Alcohol-ethanol based mouthwashes are known in the literature to be a cause of oral cancer.

Basic Mouthwash Formula.

• Use a 32 oz Mason Jar filled with distilled or clean water.
• ½-1 tsp of Sole Salt.
• 1-2 tsp of Sodium Bicarbonate.
• ½ tsp of Potassium Bicarbonate.
• 1 tsp of Fossil Shell Flour.
• ½ tsp MSM Powder.
• ½-1 tsp of Ionic Magnesium Concentrate.
• ½ tsp of Living Silica.
• Add 5-10 drops of Steam Distilled Sun Essentials Oils Peppermint Oil 4 oz, SVA Organics Natural Therapeutic Clove Essential Oil 4 fl oz, Sun Essentials Oils Spearmint Oil 4 oz or your favorite clean essential oil.

Optional: If you desire sweetness in your mouthwash (void of any sugar) add 3-5 drops of Liquid Stevia.

• Smart Floss
• Copper Tongue Cleaner
• BamBoo Roots Toothbrush

Basic Mouthwash Essentials.

Let’s say you do not have all of the products in the above recipe to start your mouthwash.

This recipe has just the essentials with simple products you most likely have in your cupboard. This recipe is very effective even if only using a few compounds to cleanse the mouth.

• Use a 32 oz Mason Jar filled with distilled or clean water.
• ½-1 tsp of Sole Salt.
• 1-2 tsp of Sodium Bicarbonate.
• Add 5-10 drops of Steam Distilled Sun Essentials Oils Peppermint Oil 4 oz, SVA Organics Natural Therapeutic Clove Essential Oil 4 fl oz, Sun Essentials Oils Spearmint Oil 4 oz or your favorite clean essential oil.

Always, swish thoroughly for at least 1-2 minutes, then brush the teeth and gums with a soft brush. I like to brush my tongue and then use the tongue scraper to finish off.

Do not swallow the mouthwash! Spit out in the sink and rinse.
