    For about 2 1/2 weeks, I have been making a kumquat/orange slice ferment with a starter of coconut milk, yogurt, and red wine. I sort of regretted the wine because maybe it has an ingredient that supresses fermentation? I added an ounce of sugar about every 3 days. Today I drank (with a spoon) one teaspoon of the liquid and BAM it must be 1000% alcohol. It tasted salty, too and like bitter orange. I felt immediately drunk and was dizzy for 2 hrs. I still am. The banana/yogurt starter coconut milk ferment is tart but tastes like ripe banana. Is there any way (without buying a gadget) to test alcohol content? I was drinking a spoon of each ferment every day last week, but started feeling like I was growing something in my stomach. Too much of a good thing, maybe. Comments, anyone?
